Dana Barros Basketball Club Announces Brian Ross as Interim Director of Girls AAU Basketball Program

Stoughton, MA – 11/2/2024 – The Dana Barros Basketball Club (DBBC) is proud to announce that Brian Ross, a respected basketball figure with deep local roots, will take over as the Interim Director of the DBBC Girls AAU Basketball Program. Ross, a North Quincy native, brings with him a wealth of experience as both a player and coach.

Ross’ impressive career began in his hometown averaging 38.6 points per game during his senior year. His next step was at Boston College, where he led the team in rebounding and Big East scoring during his freshman season. Ross was a pivotal member of the 2001 Big East Tournament champions and helped the Eagles reach the NCAA Tournament in two seasons.

Professionally, Ross expanded his playing career internationally, competing in Switzerland and Italy. Since retiring from playing, Ross has accumulated over 15 years of youth and high school coaching experience. His journey with DBBC began over four seasons ago, during which he has held key roles including Head Coach for teams ranging from 5th grade to Varsity, player development support, travel coordinator, and special assistant to DBBC President, Stephanie Creutz. Ross is also the Founder and CEO of Basketball By 45, LLC, and currently serves as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at the Woodward School in Quincy, MA.

Ross’ coaching experience and reputation for player development—focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of the game positions him as an exemplary leader for the AAU program.

Dana Barros shared his confidence in Ross’ new role, stating, “I have known Brian for over 25 years as both a player and a coach. There is no one better suited to lead the girls AAU program.”

Stephanie Creutz, President of DBBC, expressed her support, saying, “In the several years I have worked with Brian, he has proven his ability to relate to players, coaches, parents, and other officials across the broad spectrum of the AAU world. I look forward to supporting Brian as he leads the program.”

Ross himself is enthusiastic about the opportunity, remarking, “To be able to be associated with an AAU program that always strives to do it the right way, that has the best facilities, coaches, support staff, and players in the area is an opportunity that I cherish and will look to continue to build on an organization that has been a leader in the basketball community for years.”

The DBBC family is excited to see Ross guide the Girls AAU Basketball Program to new heights, upholding and enhancing the club’s tradition of fostering player-focused growth and excellence.  We look forward to seeing current players, former players, and new players at Spring 2025 Tryouts November 18th & 23rd.
